One of my large financial goals is to eventually provide entirely for myself.  I want to combine my business endeavors with a growing stream of passive income to successfully meet all of my financial needs. I feel this is my gateway to an extremely rewarding alternative lifestyle.  This brings up the fun part: building my income sources.

I’ll start with the project that you obviously already know: this blog.  As of now this site only brings in a small trickle of income, but I have some plans in place to jump-start some growth during the upcoming school year.  I don’t know what results I can expect for sure, but I’m confident I can build a fairly decent income by putting in some good work.

My main endeavor, however, is an extremely long-term project.  For a while now I’ve been studying the techniques that I believe can make me a profitable futures and foreign exchange (Forex) trader.  I’ve been drawn to these markets for several years now, and I actually jumped in foolishly as a newbie who knew absolutely nothing.  However, after that initial folly, I’m taking a much more methodical route now that acknowledges the learning curve period.  I believe this project has enormous long-term potential, and I’m working every day to get there (I’d love to discuss my path and strategy in detail at a later time).  I’m also extremely grateful to have a good friend of mine on board as well.  It’s a lot harder to lose concentration on a long-term project when you know you have awesome support behind you.

These are my two priorities right now, but I’m always keeping an eye out for other opportunities.  For example, I’m really passionate about the environment, and the market for environmentally friendly, sustainable projects really intrigues me.  I’d love to get in this incredible field at some point in the future.

This is my direction as of now.  Like I’ve said before, I’m pursuing these with a long-term mindset.  I’m not about to drop out of school and declare myself as living an alternative lifestyle.  In all likelihood, I will spend several years at least in the traditional workforce while building my outside income sources, which is completely fine.  It’s anyone’s guess what will become of my endeavors, but I have high hopes.
